Sophia did great in her surgery. We are already home and she is playing on the floor with Julia like nothing happened. They said they took a lot of thick fluid out of the left ear and there was even a little blood from the swelling in that ear. They gave her the hearing test and they said it appears there is some hearing loss in that left ear. We will go back in one week to have her tested again.
From what I understand in my many years of the pink stuff with my youngest, an ear infection degrades the ability to hear by 50% for about six weeks. That is why he did not start speaking until he was three!
Sophia fares better with the tubes. They did nothing for my son!! I am praying!
Just now catching up on your blog, but I'll pray that the tubes help and that any hearing lost is restored for little Sophia Jay. Our Parker was supposed to get tubes put in the same day, but we had to postpone since he was sick. He's scheduled for this week, but is still sick so that's likely going to be postponed again.

Yes, we will keep Sophia in our prayers today. I hope the tubes do the trick. Has she been having chronic ear infections? No fun!!!
