Scaling The Heights

Today I plan to climb Mt. Ablution.

While lavation is happening I hope to keep right on schedule. Lavation could be kin to aggravation, ya think? At least Firefox spell agrees with me on that one.

I just pray the clothes go through the purification that I long for. (No weird smells -- usually the stains are stuck).

Then I commence the folding.

Quickly. Neatly. With something kindred to OCD.
(Yeah... NOT the Office of Civil Defense rather obsessive-compulsive disorder.)

I had my oldest daughter make me... um... make one of these for a home school project. Then I appropriated it. It resides under my bed to be used regularly. I love it when my t-shirt corners all line up on the shelf.

Now -- in 100 EZ lessons fashions.

See me fold.

Why yes I did use the thesaurus... why do you ask?

  1. Thanks for reminding me that I need to do a ton of laundry today...and I can't decide if I think that is genius or over the top!

  2. My laundry's done, it just needs ironed or put away. Or both.

As for the shirt folder...it's cool, but it shows that you're even more anal than I am. :)

  3. I would love one of those but I think that would put my family over the edge! They all ready pull out their hair when I have to show them for the 100th time how I like out towels folded. Come on you are here with me. They need to fit in a certain space so you need to fold them a certain way. LOL! Controlling? Yeah maybe I am a little. chuckles!

  4. It's OVER THE TOP Rachel!! It slows me way down... but I put in a movie and fold and fold and fold and all is right with the world when I have this neat little wrinkle free pile of t-shirts, sweaters, and jammie shirts... all "dress right dress" as they say in the military.

And Yes Angela -- I'm a bit anal... I'll admit it.

Oh and that reminds me Jennifer - I even fold my towels with it. °Ü° They look so nice in the closet. Wrinkled things don't seem to smell as nice -- do they? Fresh folds, fresh scent.

Here is where I get it -- my mom wanted one for Christmas. We'll have to do it for her birthday or something. I'll have to wait until my next oldest kid is searching for a home school project. Hey Mansel... do you want to make a t-shirt folder?? LOL It's genetic.

  5. I need to have the boys make one of those for themselves! I have our kids fold all of their own clothes, but I am always wincing at the end product. And I really wince sometimes when the boys come out of their bedroom with a t-shirt fresh from out of their drawer that is completely covered in wrinkles. Help! The thing is, the two older boys are in C.A.P. and are meticulous about their uniforms and it has carried over to the care of all of their dress shirts as well. But t-shirts are just t-shirts to them I guess and not worthy in their eyes somehow of the extra care. Anyway, I love that, uh, thing. What do you call it anyway?

  6. Around here we call it the t-shirt folder.

    works for me.

My kids like to use it too. Sometimes I'll fold the jeans and they fold the t-shirts.

When Tori made it -- somewhere we found a link that had printable instructions. So -- do a little searching... she made it by herself when she was 10. Great home school project... ya think? ;)

  7. Who would have thought there would be oodles of video instruction on how to fold a t-shirt!?!?!? My kids had to watch them all! Crazy!

  8. Oh -- the one where you pick the shirt up in 2 spots -- then wa lah... it's folded. Looks cool... but I never could get it right. They must have had lots of practice.

    Or -- I'm a clutz.

Does it look like I'm comment padding to you? I'm not really... I've never been a padder. I'm just conversing with my commentors... that's all. ::snicker::

  9. I am always looking out for great projects like this for my daughter's autism therapy! This will kill two birds with one stone . . . (1) a project we can do together and (2) a way to help her fold shirts neatly!

    WOW!!!!!!
