If you owned these -- what would you do with them? I'm speaking of the empty egg cartons that are gracing the top of my lovely fridge.. not the cool words that are stuck to the side.
I'm thinking there have got to be some crafty people who read my blog... aren't there??
I started saving them a while back... apparently we eat a lot of eggs... mostly 12 at a time, but as you can see -- I bought 18 at once. I'm not really sure why I started saving them. I bet I read in a magazine -- save your egg cartons, and you can make THESE!!! And like an aspiring super mom that I am... I did. But what in the wide world is it?
I don't know.

I don't know about being funny but as soon as I saw the words, this sentence popped out at me.

as far as the egg cartons, we were usings all the ones we could get our hands on to put our farm eggs in to sell to people. We are down to only 3 chickens now who aren't laying... ugh.
The children use them when they paint with water colors... makes good bowls for the water to rinse their brushes or put washable paint in for them to use as a paint pallette.
You can use them as seedling starter cups.
I think I saw in the Tightwad Gazette book on how to make an egg carton crown for a child to play with.
If you do any sort of craft, you could put it in a drawer and use it to divide up buttons, beads, or whatever.
Goof less, nap more.

ReplyDeleteI'd chuck the egg cartons....if they have been sitting there for a while anyway, thet are NOT useful, just clutter (i'm in a big chuck-away mood mind you....maybe don't ask me....lol!)

As for the cartons... they make great seed starters. School project!

-put in boots so they don't lose shape.
-Seperate things in the junk drawer.
-Use for paint projects to keep colors seperate.
-sprout seeds.
-Use to sort your change in your dresser drawer.
-line the carton with pretty celophane or tin foil, use to ship or give treats to family and friends.

ReplyDeleteI would toss the majority of the egg cartons. The rest can be used for things like making "ants" (3 cups for the 3 body parts), sorting coins/beads/marbles, or organizing small items (like barrettes).
