Bootcamp for Lousy Housekeepers

Some of you know me... I love a clean house -- but I don't love to clean house. Ü


But I have pre-read some of this book Bootcamp For Lousy Housekeepers by Heidi Schaap, and I'm telling you what -- this Drill Sargent author knows her stuff. When I follow her example, it sure makes something I don't love to do a whole lot easier.


Well -- it's about spring... which means about time for spring cleaning -- so JUST IN TIME, Miss Heidi is going to give away 2 copies of her new book BOOTCAMP FOR LOUSY HOUSEKEEPERS.  I want to WIN!  I want to hold a copy in my little hands.

Win An Oreck Vacuum?

I have found 3 blogs this week that are having contest to GIVE AWAY an Oreck Vacuum.

That is some giveaway.

I first saw it a BooMama's blog. You have to leave a comment. She's got over 1500 comments already. The odds are not so great that you'll win over there -- but you never know. She uses the random number picker to pick her winner... seems fair. So -- maybe if you start praying now -- you might win.

Then there is another giveaway for the same product at the bloggy giveaways.com blog. You have to tell what your favorite feature is on this product in a comment. So -- it's a tad bit more work... only 883 comments. Like that's even hard... But she says she'll have a drawing... too bad on a blog you can crumple up your paper a little so she'll draw yours out of the bag.

Last but not least is the give away at the boing boing blog. What sort of weird name is that? Who knows. Their contest is weird too -- you have to tell about your suckiest gadget experience. Well -- that's stupid. Firefox says there is no such word as suckiest. See... I knew it was stupid. But I played along -- because I love free things. Wouldn't you know... they have the least amount of comments of all -- only 22... but they are going to PICK their FAVORITE story... it's very subjective. So -- my chances there are probably even worse then at the first 2 sites.

So -- who's gonna play? Do you like Orecks? I guess if I don't like it -- I could always re-gift it. LOL

Oh... some of my favorite things. I love Karen Kingsbury novels lately. I'm reading one right now that is making me show REAL emotion (OK -- I cried). I could tell it was coming -- so I went and hid in the bathroom to read the next chapter... yep -- I cried. But no one saw me, so I'm going to deny it. My friend Beth tried to warn me... and I'm not even done with the book yet. Ever After... it's one of my favorite things, right now. But I just got 3 new books of Karen's, from my dad and mom for Christmas... so that may change soon. LOL

Nestle Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough that you can buy by the bucket full from COSTCO is a favorite too. They were giving out sample cookies on one of our last visits -- I said, "Are you just passing that stuff out raw? Because that's how we eat it at our house." I have to keep that stuff in the freezer.. or it would be gone in a week.

Charmed Life

I am leading a charmed life today.

My favorite bracelet arrived in the mail today. Ü

I won this piece of jewelry from Charmed Designs by Dana Leach.

Gorgeous. I tried to take a photo of me wearing it -- but I do not have model hands. My knuckles looked thick, my hairy arms looked even hairier, and my silly camera blurred the details at just the wrong time.



AND I wanted you all to see the little things, like this cute packaging. The bracelet arrived in the white bag, which was in the cute little red bag. I'm easily impressed. If you click on the photo - it will enlarge.

AND!!! I've got another AND... it totally matches the shirt I'm wearing today. I'd take a photo of that too -- except it's stained. Who wants to see a stained shirt that matches this awesome bracelet? I was betting that you DIDN'T want to see that. So I opted out of the stained shirt, that matches my beautiful bracelet, photo.

To stick with the "charmed life" theme... I am brewing my free sample of Folgers Gourmet Selections Vanilla Biscotti coffee right now. It came in the mail today too. Too good to be true, huh!?! Ü It smells GREAT, I tell ya. I'm thinking I won't have to add much, perhaps a little Splenda, and it'll be AWESOME!

Then I'll head upstairs and turn on my iron -- and stick to my job until it's done. (I took a little break -- you know me and mail -- I LOVE snail mail! Especially today!!)
